its all about airsoft
February 3, 2007haven't posted in a week. oh yes, i have several reasons. and surprisingly, it doesn't include me being lazy (surprise, surprise!). hell my fingers' been itching for a week but just couldn't find a spare time to sit down for atleast 20 mins and write a post. but am right here at the office right now and filing my 2-day sick leave so i have all the time in the world to blog about the stuff ive been busy with for the past 5 days.
:: airsoft! well ive been pretty excited to death about being able to play again after a month. although i was a bit disappointed at first when i found out we won't be playing at the old (and rumored to be haunted) Diplomat Hotel, i still had a hell of a good time. we played on a jungle terrain (read: deep trenches, pine trees, thick & spiky bushes, blade grass and an occasional swarm of mosquitos). everyone was there and everyone brought their share of marinated hypertension…errr… marinated pork for our barbeque lunch party in between games. i was so ecstatic and the moment i was finished gearing up i could feel adrenaline rushing through my veins. although i was in my best element throughout the day, i had a scary fall during my last game. i slipped and fell on a trench and the right side of my body was the first to slam into the ground. remember i haven't played in a month so some of the bushes and grasses have overgrown since i last played on that particular site covering most of the trenches that were once visible to the eye. the moment my body touched base with the ground, i felt a searing pain from my ankle up to my hip. my right arm felt paralyzed and i just stayed in there, mute and unmoving for atleast 30 seconds before mustering up enough energy to stand up and try to gain cover from a nearby pine tree. but before i could do so, a spray of BB's (pellets) was volleyed on my direction and before i could move one more inch i knew it would be stupipd to try to run so i just proclaimed myselff hit. i carried myself bravely downhill towards the base and it was then that i knew my right ankle and hand was sprained. but i didn't let it water down my spirits, i survived until later in the evening and it was only the next day that i felt all the pain that's been put on hold the day before. i woke up and my body felt like lead. my whole body was on fire and it took so much effort just to sit up or down, walk up or down the stairs and even if i had to lie down or get up from bed! i was in hell for 3 days. painkillers became my bestfriend for the past week. but who cares, its already saturday…its been a week and we have another game tomorrow! im crazy. im definitely crazy over airsoft.
:: Grey's Anatomy. i never wanted to be a nurse or a doctor. never. but i loooooveee this particular series. finished Seasons 1-2 and will continue with Season 3. i think its the Dr. McDreamy syndrome.
:: went to spa owned by my Be's dad's client in manila. had a facial while my Be had a sauna and swedish massage. it was crazy cuz my Be is so ticklish and it would kill him to touch one part of his body for more than 30 seconds!
:: went on sick leave for 2 days. thing is, been freezing here in baguio for the past week. temp went as low as 7 degrees and people, the coldest baguio's ever was at 6 degrees and that was like in the 1960's! well temp went up yesterday at 9 degrees but i can't tell the difference! benguet farmers are losing millions because crops were destroyed due to frostbite. im dying of asthma and chondritis. don't you just love the cold season?
:: finally perfected my Cordon Bleu recipe. its my second attempt to make the dish and my Be adored it. ingredients: chicken fillet preferably the breast / thin slices of sweet ham / thick slices of cheese / dried basil / salt / pepper / 1 beaten egg, add a tbsp of water to it / flour and japanese breadcrumbs / vegetable or canola oil. procedure: spread fillet of chicken and beat down with a mallet but be careful not to mash the meat, use a rolling pin if you don't have a mallet. season the insides with dried basil, salt and pepper. place a slice of ham, and then the cheese and then another slice of ham. fold in the meat forming an almost rectangular shape and hold down with toothpicks. make sure the cheese is stuffed firmly inside. season the outside with a little salt. dip first in flour then on the egg then cover again with flour and dip slightly again on the egg mixture then cover with breadcrums making sure also to seal the sides of the chicken roll-up then fry immediately on hot oil with lowered down heat. brown all sides and let rest for atleast 20 mins before cutting it up. serve with cream sauce if desired.
:: our airsoft team will be having our first year anniversary on february 24! plans are still being made on how the game will be played but all i know is that its gonna be an overnight event and we might be having a night game! how cool is that?
well its not much but most of the week you'll find me slouched infront of the televison scared to move an inch due to my sprains while guzzling down cups and cups of hazelnut coffee while trying to keep myself all warm and fuzzy. i didn't have camera with me during our game last saturday so im still waiting for sir norman to upload the pictures he took.
notice i changed the background and main images of my blog? i went online the other day at an internet cafe and realized how heavy the images were. i wasn't able to open my site! then PC even hung up! so okay, our company uses DSL wherein the server i think is based in atlanta, georgia. so everything opens up quickly when i surf here at the office. so i changed it. and surprisingly, im happy with it.
gotta go. my fingers are literally freezing up. have a doctor's appointment. have to make sure im up and okay for the game tomorrow!
