a toast for the year to come

no hangovers this time! wooohooo!

nway its been a few days, got really sick on the 26th.

just woke up the day after christmas with a sore throat, stuffy nose, back pain and a nagging headache. took a sick leave for 2 days plus 2 more off-days and that's 4 days of interchanging couch potato to bedhead and back again. i finished a couple of DVD's and drowned myself with gallons of brewed hazelnut coffee. 

finally came out on the 30th to do a quick grocery shopping for new year's and went to the wet market as well for fruits that i just think are way too outrageously priced at  the grocery store.

new year's eve would just be me and my Be. his family went home to Manila on the 27th and my mom and sis went down to La Union to usher the new year with our kin. and due to the crazy and unacceptable fact that we both have to work even during the holidays, we're left here in baguio to celebrate the coming of 2007 on our own, which i think is good enough as long as we're together.

yeah that's it. i get off from work later around 7pm so id be too tired to put together an elaborate feast which will only be appreciated by 2 people (me and my Be) so we opted to go simple and cook something that we can give out on new year's day. the Blondies' Smores is something i came upon a few weeks ago and i tried to bake it for the first time last night and went sugar high for a few hours since most of the ingredients include brown sugar, marshmallows and chocolate chunks. and yeah, i have completed all 12 fruits! i went crazy at the wet market (palengke) looking for add-ons and amidst all the filth and noise and dust, i found myself enjoying bartering with the fruit vendors!

i have: oranges, apples, lemons, pineapples, papaya, melon, star apples, pears, chico, grapes, passion fruit and strawberries…and a whole large can of fruit cocktail in tow!

so il be signing off 2006 in a few hours. im actually having goosebumps right now just thinking of everything that happened for the past year. if i could describe 2006 in one word, it would be EMOTIONAL. yup, its really complicated but a lot had me going on a regualr rollercoaster ride when it comes to emotions during this year. a lot of tears, dispapointments, frustrations and anger…but also there's the countless suprises and springs of happiness and joys and excitement…reflecting on this, i can say that ive lived a full life for the past year…

there will be no new year's resolutions, just concrete plans for the coming year. and as promised, there will definitely be wedding bells this time. no more palusots, we're strong enough to finally take the plunge.
