free washing machines!
November 27, 2006i came back to work yesterday from my 2-day off that was soooo bitin, it hurts.
anyhoo…
last week was hell week and im not so looking forward to a repeat performance this week, and i was happy to find out that we're adequately staffed (if not overstaffed) for the next few days. but that's no surprise because the management team here at the office figured out that if they continue to force (yes, force is the word) agents to render overtimes then their hate mail will reach an astonishing number. so instead of forcing, they decided to bribe their agents into renderring overtimes.
you might think that bribe is such a heavy word to describe the gimmicks the management people are doing right now here at the office. cm'on, they're giving out washing machines, dvd players, iPod Nano's, Playstation 2's, microwave ovens, coffee makers and flat screen televisions! and there's movie tickets, prepaid cards and cold, cold cash amounting to Php500 and Php 1000!
yeah, beat that!
now, we have agents extending their agony here at the office to get a shot of those expensive prizes and some even come in on their day off's!
but not me.
i love my own quality time. id rather sleep for 8 hours than agonize in front of my office PC for a whole shift just so i can win Php1000 or 5 free movie tickets. i love my peace. office time is chaos and i have no intention of prolonging my misery just so i can load up my cellphone.
but i still benefit from it because if we're adequately staffed, then it means that i have longer petiks time. when i say petiks time, it includes blogging, chatting, surfing the net and just lounging around.
so i look forward to this week and for the following weeks to come. because if the management people continue to dangle these type of prizes for those who are crazy enough to stay in the office for 16 hour tops, then im saved from dying because of migraine.

there's a big even here next month that has all avid Airsoft gamers/players all excited. its called Operation Cold Dagger. it would be a big Airsoft game wherein we'll have delegates from manila coming here to play Airsoft for 3 days with local baguio Airsoft teams. its also a game for a cause because the fees gathered from the event will be given to an organization catering to handicapped students.
its got my Be pretty excited. i look forward to it too because depending on the outcome of the event and how much it would impact me, i might finally give in and buy my fist Airsoft gun on January.
if you're interested, just log on to http://www.filairsoft.com or leave me some messages!

im not able to watch Happy Feet. it breaks my heart. oh well, there's always pirated DVD's!

hell week
November 23, 2006its been a loooooooooooong week. and that, is even an understatement.
my week here at works starts on a sunday (yes, i know it sounds like it sucks but its all cool cuz my off is on fridays and saturdays) and it was a good start. not much calls coming in. i practically breezed through the whole shift. then came monday.
ever since my schedule was shifted to 9:30AM, Be no longer hears my endless ranting and im-so-tired drama which has become my daily routine 6 months after i started working for this company. i mean, i come to work on a normal office hour and not worry about grabbing a cab and not being raped by a taxi driver at 3 in the morning!
so, last monday i came in and ready to start my day at the office when a horrifying news hit me in the eye: 250 calls waiting! just the sight of that figure had me wanting to crawl back to bed and vanish. 250 calls waiting! are you kidding me? i mean, we are understaffed right now at the office. not much agents especially in the morning shift since lesser customers call in the morning. but it was way past 10AM already and the queue didn't budge an inch. according to our supervisors, we have big problems with our servers. our customers either experience slow (as in slower than dial-up) DSL speed, be redirected to certain sites or cannot navigate to any websites at all. everybody knows how dependent americans are with their internet and those 250 customers are the ones from our Residential department only so they perfectly understood that its not our fault our servers are down and most of them are willing to wait until after 24-48 hours for it to be fixed since they only use their DSL to chat or go to ebay or check their mail or update their myspace accounts. but imagine our Business customers? those whose establishments depend on the internet? beyond that 250 customers waiting on the line, im glad im able to explain carefully to a housewife or a grandfather or a son that our servers are down and most of them understood me perfectly and hung up peacefully without asking for my supervisor. for a moment there, i was glad i don't need to deal with aggravated business customers whose businesses were paralyzed due to that srver problem we had.
after my monday shift, i went home wanting to die.
tuesday was the same scenario. as was wednesday.
thursday was a relief. it was Thanksgiving in the United States so they're busy preparing their turkeys.
what a week.
and to compensate with the horrible week i had, my weekend was meticulously planned with me doing nothing but lie in bed until god knows what and then attach myself to our couch and watch dvd's all day. yeah, in my pajammies, my hair unwashed and the coffee maker turned on to give me endless supply of freshly brewed coffee.

3rd anniversary brouhaha
November 9, 2006today is our 3rd year anniversary.
pretty exciting.
eck! its already 5 PM and i still don’t have anything planed for our anniversary dinner! thing is, we don’t eat out to celebrate…we just prepare a nice dinner at home and talk all night. that’s how we celebrate our anniversay. although, im pressed for time because i get off from work at 6.30PM, have to rush to the grocer and be home before 8PM in order for me to atleast whip up an (amazing) dinner and finally sit down and celebrate by 9PM.
sit down and celebrate 3 wonderful years together.
3 years of DVD marathons, petty fights, LQ’s, pigging out, tickle sessions, wrestling matches on the livingroom couch, late night conversations, walking up and down Session Road wearing pambahay + tsinelas, kilig moments, weekly doses of SM, pillow fights, and the list goes on and on and on…
now if only i could figure out what to cook that will prove amazing in under 30 minutes!
i need Rachael Ray right now and her list of 30 Minute Meals!
***will provide you guys with the outcome of my effort to put together a decent and yummy meal with my head buzzing from too much work and adrenaline pumping in my veins!
10 hours worth of sleep keeps the doctor away
November 6, 2006when you have almost 10 hours worth of sleep the night before, then its a parade going to work.
i had 10 hours worth of sleep.
my new schedule is 9:30AM to 6:30PM.
my off is still on fridays and saturdays.
i came to work this morning with a marching band playing loud-let’s-party music.
just kidding.
oooookkkkaaaayyyy. so i had (more than) enough sleep and my new schedule had most of my officemates green with envy. i mean are you kidding me? i don’t even need to wake up while its still dark just so i can get to work in time! that’s like, monumental on my job! so i had a glorious waking moment (at around 7:30AM), had enough time to prepare and indulge myself on a proper breakfast and even spent a few minutes to lingering infront of the boob tube. pretty cool, i tell you. if you’ve spent 6 months rushing home from work everyday to get enough shut-eye because you’d be up be up by 4AM and do the same routine every single day, waking up after the sun has risen is like a huge thing. ugh. i may sound pathetic and awfully mababaw, but hey, its just the way it is. i keep wanting to feel and live like normal working people (y’know, like those on 9-5 jobs and proper weekend offs) and this is close to it…so bear with it.
~.~
i you haven’t noticed, i have a new lay-out. yes, i was meaning to do something about my blog’s appearance. it ws getting old and dreary, so i opted for pa-girl colors. my header image is a real catch (though im still to credit the image cuz im still looking for the correct link). and ive finally updated my sidebar! though there’s still a couple of boo-boos especially my links (ive still to update it!). but anyway, i like it. i really like my new lay-out. teehee.
~.~
there would be upcoming changes in my life, although i think its still not time to indulge you guys about it. im currently riding on a rollercoaster of emotions.
im happy, excited, scared, tensed…
i wanna get over it. but its still not time. so il just hold on tight on my seat and hope not fall off in a sea of regret.
hopefully…

i know i mentioned about putting up a food blog. its still in the works! i was just so sick for the past 2 months that ive put off cooking and compiling photos/articles…but it’ll be up by december (im crossing my fingers!).
