i want to be sunshine-y and nice

October 10, 2006

ive been nothing but a bag of crap and depression and dullness and i-so-hate-my-life for the past two months. i know that ive posted a kajillion times before how im so wanting to get out and be simply carefree and happy and all sunshine-y and nice, so it won’t make any difference if i bash out the same crap right this moment: im tired of this!

moving on…

here’s some random events/ideas/crap ive compiled in my now-mushy head for the past weeks:

*watched The Devil Wears Prada and fell inlove with Simon Baker (aka. Christopher Thompson in the movie), though quite honestly, i think its not an infatuation with the actor but with the character himself (whatever that means). anne hathaway was her usual self, its like watching a more sassy and sophisticated Princess Mia, which i totally adore (Princess Diaries 1 & 2 are included on my aboslute-favorite-movie-list). lastly, meryll streep is vicious! i would definitely be dying to work for Miranda Priestly.

*watched First Day High (haha). i know, pretty lame but it was free and i slept halfway through the movie. and i was so inis because its like watching a more jologs version of High School Musical. i mean, why do filipino filmmakers have to be such copycats?! well of course not all…but come on, with all the singing and jock-makes-googoo-eyes-to-brainiac and high-fashion-sorority-girls-doing-fashion-walks-at-school-lobbies? i mean, if you haven’t watched Disney’s High School Musical yet and you’ve already swooned over FDH then take time to watch the hollywood counterpart on youtube.com or maybe i you’re lucky you’d stumble on a replay at the Disney Channel (although i have to commend that atleast all of the starts at FDH know how to act and spill out their lines w/o sounding like they’re all on prozacs). yeah i know, im harsh, deal with it.

*been watching The Amazing Race Season 10 and lovin’ it as usual. its typical of me to play favorites on each season but im surprised with myself that i haven’t picked out yet my favorite team for Season 10 (unlike on the previous seasons wherein my favorites were Drew & Kevin on S1, The Bransens on the Family Edition, Reichen & Chip on S4, Kris & Jon an S6, Brian & Greg/Lyn & Alex on S7 and of course BJ & Tyler on S9 and ive picked them right after the 2nd or 3rd legs). and honestly, im quite bored with the challenges they had to do so far and there has been lots of equalizers, meaning, there’s always a different winner on each leg. and of course if there’s a favorite, that one team you keep rooting for, there’s that one team you keep praying for will get eliminated. ive had a few during the previous seasons like Team Guido on S1 (i totally despised them), hated Jonathan Baker from S6 cuz he always berates at his wife and even pushed her at one point just because they ended up only 2nd on one of the legs, just annoyed with Rob & Amber from S7 and i was also irritated with MoJo (Monica & Jonathan) from S9 maybe because they always picked on my favorite team (BJ & Tyler) and lastly, there’s The Weavers during the Family Edition…they were so hated by everybody that they got Yielded twice in the history on The Amazing Race. but right now on Season 10, im just so not happy watching Peter & Sarah race through all the challenges because i want them out. i dunno…they’re both annoying, argh i don’t even know how to describe the way i feel everytime i see them on the race! anyhoo, ive blabbed too much now, made it too obvious how much i loved the series but really, i sounded like a real-life couch potato…anyway, im looking forward for The Amazing Race Asia to air on television! wooohooo!

*finished re-reading William Golding’s Lord of the Flies. i remember how i got a copy of it accidentally for a mere Php25! thing is, i just read about the book on a novel i was reading that time (and i honestly can’t even remember what that novel was!) and it was mentioned a lot of times on that novel which prompted me to look for the book. so when i got the chance to go down manila, i scoured the ever-famous Recto for hard-to-find first editions and books on their original book covers. out of nowhere, i was able to grab a paperback copy of the book on its original art cover! i had to suppress my glee! anyway, i enjoyed the book and it has now become one of my well-kept treasures.

*next month will be our 3rd year being together! teehee. happiness. im effing excited. what to do? what to buy for gift? what to cook for dinner? ideas? anyone?

*im so looking forward to watching The Nanny Diaries.

*im slowly creeping into a diet. imagine that?! remember how i attempted to go on a diet before but failed miserably? i skipped meals for 3 whole weeks and tried to do basic pilates but it only got me so frustrated because i seem not to lose any weight that out of depression i did a complete flipside and found myself golfing down 3x more than i eat before i went on that failure of a diet. so now, no crash diets for me. i started by eating rice only once a day and trying my best to inch away from constantly eating cupcakes/brownies/ popsicles and tarts (that are so abundant here at the office pantry!). i have to take this one step at a time. exercise? maybe not now…not that im lazy…im just too tired from work! anyway, wish me luck!

okay, im out of time. gotta go!

Diet? Got to start somewhere. Pasting would do the trick. That would be your motivation. Pasting is a form of prayer. You past for something. Your prayer may be granted that way. Two birds in one stone. Pasting and diet. That could work.
