and the list goes on

July 31, 2006

weeee its the end of the month! nothing special (except that today’s payday, of course).

~.~

so what did i do during my 1-day off? what else but hog the living room couch and watch endless television. i was even able to catch a replay telecast of the Miss Universe 2006 pageant at Star World. ummm yeah…Miss Puerto Rico is your typical beauty pagent-ish so i was not surprised when she was announced winner, although Miss Mexico was very pretty and i honestly thought that Miss Japan would make it. and yeah, Miss Philippines did not make it to the top 20 but atleast won Miss Photogenic (as always). okay enough on beauty pageants. *yawn*

~.~

i was not myself lately. day by day, i feel tired and bored and lazy and feel not a drop of enthusiasm in my body. heck its been mirrored on my posts how lame i feel lately. there’s just no spirit. maybe im getting tired of my job again. maybe i should stop coming to work on flip flops, drawstring pants and hoodies because it makes me feel so tamad. or because i got sick for a week days ago that i still feel drugged from all the meds i had to take. or maybe im depressed. argh i hate what im feeling right now. help, i need help! *falls on the floor*

~.~

im here at the office right now, 7 hours into my shift and i had nothing except crackers and a bottle of mineral water. no, im not on a diet (i gave up months ago) and no, im definitely not trying to kill myself. i dunno…the last time i ate anything decent was yesterday…and decent is an understatement because i hade yang chow fried rice, buttered chicken, sweet and sour pork and your typical pancit canton (i told you im not on a diet). maybe i ate too much that’s why after almost 12 hours i still feel full. i could still taste the buttered chicken in my mouth. though im having a sudden craving for spaghetti right now while i type this. not the one you buy at the nearest fastfood joint. i want some homemade spaghetti. i think il whip one tonight for dinner and i hope geebee wont mind. yes, il put together a spaghetti dinner tonight. yum.

~.~

i was able to catch the premiere of Philippine Idol last night and it was hilarious! but il be looking forward to it because there were 2 contestants who, physically have no star quality at all (not that im an expert on that), but i like them both because a) the guy has presence and he’s able to make me laugh and b) the girl looked like she came straight from an anime’ cosplay event but she was able to belt out a broadway song without breaking a sweat (as requested by ryan cayabyab because apparently her audition piece was the OST of Voltes V, which she was able to sing without batting an eyelash).

~.~

ive finally perfected the art of mixed ground pork used for meatballs and lumpiang shanghai.

here’s my recipe:

ingredients:

1/2 kilo ground pork*

2 medium-sized carrots, minced or shredded

2 stalks of celery, minced

1 large white onion, minced

10 cloves of garlic, minced

a handful of minced parsley

1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves or 1 tbsp. freshly minced basil leaves

1 tsp. black ground pepper

1 tsp. salt

1/2 cup dried breadcrumbs

3 tbsp. tomato catsup

1 tbsp. soy sauce

1 egg

cornstarch to thicken mixture

>>>mix all the ingredients in one big bowl, make sure the mixture is thick and not watery. try to fry a small patty and taste the result and from there you can add more salt, pepper or even chili powder depending on your taste.

*ground beef, chicken and turkey can be substituted.

***next up: my recipe for Pancit Molo

hectic hours, flip flops and brain cells migrating to the north pole

July 28, 2006

rest day overtime. ugh. instead of romping at home doing nothing but channel surf or sleep, im here at the office on my supposed-to-be-restday torturing myself. and no, i did not choose to be here on a now-sunny-day to debacle with crazy/insomiac/crappy americans who freak out everytime they get Page Cannot Be Displayed. but what the heck, its the job i chose…i mean, i could have gotten a far more glamorous job in Manila, any other job related to media or advertising (since i took up AB Communications in college anyway) but still, i chose to stay here…work here…because i will never ever leave my baguio.

~.~

try to look for your house here!

~.~

ive been coming to work on flip flops for 1 straight week already, and i love it! sometimes you can even find me walking around barefooted, and i love it (thank god for carpeted office flooring). OMG, i want this! and this! and this! and yeah, ive always wanted to have these pairs. oh and this is outrageously cute! okay, enough on flip flops…hehe

~.~

im currently obsessed to 3, i repeat, 3 things only:

cupcakes

popsicles

tv

i rest my case..

~.~

ive just realized how mababaw this post is. don’t blame me. blame it for working 10 hours a day for 6 days a week. my brain cells have migrated to the North Pole. im posting for the sake of having something to post. very lame. very, very lame.

~.~

drama mode.

im still waiting for my real life to begin…

tamad listing

July 26, 2006

no blogging for more than 2 weeks. i had access to a computer with a dsl connection. i had spare time. but i did not post anything. because there is nothing to post about. nada. zilch. anyway, i decided that since july is almost over, id rant before the month ends.

*i was sick for more than a week, thus, i did not go to work for a week…heaven..

*im currently wallowing in post-sickness depression, meaning, im just tad too miserable to get back to work…although im left with no choice..arrgghhh..

*ive been watching 2 korean movies over and over again for the past 2 weeks, Windstruck and The Classic and both times ive been crying my eyes out…

*i finally watched Superman Returns last friday and i think Brandon Routh is the hottest thing after fast dsl connection (i know, im pathetic to compare a guy with internet speed)…

*anyway, shout outs to erwie, ritch, rhymes and geebee’s cousin jessica for passing the board exam for nurses! yiheee!

*there was florita and now here’s another typhoon and im not very happy with it. one, id rather curl in bed than go to work and two, going to work all wet and shivering from the cold is not a pretty sight.

*my brother’s finally having a haircut! i think il post a before and after to show the transformation…wehehehe..

*i want a new cellphone.

*ive been playing Age of Empires II for 2 weeks already…haha!

*ive become a fan of Bituing Walang Ningning (hahaha! jologs na kung jologs, i don’t caareeee!!!!!)

*i think the Tyra show is cool. but id still switch to Oprah anyday.

*im contemplating on a haircut…a real one…hmmmmmm..

*wedding’s off…well for next 12 months that is…thing is, my grandmother passed away last june and our family thinks its not good to push through with the wedding…and geebee’s boss who happens to be chinese also said that it would be bad luck to go through with a wedding knowing that somebody close to our family just passed away…so we have to wait after 1 year…it sucks but we have to comply with it out of respect for my lola..

ugh…im soooo tamad to go on with this list…or maybe i got depressed again just thinking about the wedding that’s not gonna happen this year…oh well…

forever and more

July 9, 2006

two years and eight months….

two years and eight months seem such a short time…but it felt like we’ve been:

doing dvd marathons forever…

lazing on a couch while zapping channels on the tv forever…

pigging out on homemade snacks forever…

walking under the rain together forever…

concocting incredulous but surprisingly amazing recipes forever…

listening to the same songs forever…

doing the grocery-shopping together forever…

travelling around together forever…

making kulit to each other everyday forever…

annoying each other every single day forever…

fighting over one pillow even if there are 4 more forever…

fighting and then kissing up forever…

staring at each other forever…

hugging each other forever…

loving each other forever…

the list could go on forever but then its better to read between the lines.

thank you for the 2 years and 8 months and fun and love and making me feel kilig during my i-hate-the-world moments…

just continue holding my hand…

we’ve got forever…

stories from vacation land

July 5, 2006

got back to work yesterday after being on vacation leave for 5 days and i already feel stumped. but since im already on day shift, i don’t feel as conked out compared to when i was coming to work at 10 in the evening. i actually don’t feel like its the end of the world on our way back to baguio, the way i always feel after a 2 or 3-day short leave. aaahhh…the happiness of being on a day shift…anyway, enough of that blah because this post is supposed to be about my 5-day vacation leave!

so. i decided to use peechures to tell the story of my short-lived, fun-filled and food-fest vacation i had. here goes craziness…

it all started on a trip to korea….naahhh this was taken infront of the korean english boarding school near our apartment while we were waiting for a taxi to take us to the bus terminal…this was about 1 in the morning.

we finally arrive in pampanga! well, long story short: geebee decided we do our own version of the Amazing Race, thus, instead of informing his mom and dad where we are he just nonchantly told them that we’ll find our way to his lola’s house… on our own. we arrived at Dau at about 5:30 in the morning and waited for about 15 minutes while geebee figured out where we’d get our next ride. after asking 2 bus conductors, a barbeque vendor and 2 policemen, we were directed to a mini (and mini is an understatement!) bus that is supposed to be bound to san fernando, pampanga and is supposed to drop us somewhere where we’d get a ride to calumpit. so we get inside the very mini bus and travelled for a good 30 mins or so. we then jogged (jogging or running is the Amazing Race way to get a ride) to a waiting Victory bus that will drop us to our next stop. so, after another 30 mins or so, i find myself staring at our next ride: a tricycle that looks like it will fall apart anytime and that’s when we decided to take a picture. 3 bus rides and a tricycle ride…i will never ever tolerate geebee again the next time he decides not to let any of his relatives fetch us, especially when i found out from his dad that if only he’d informed them, they’ve would’ve fetched us at Dau!

the moment we arrived at his lola’s house, the first thing we did was…EAT. oh yes, there were lots and lots of food that we did not bother to take any pictures. we just ate. it was pure gluttony.  and with all the food we stuffed ourselves with, a nap would be the next best thing. but just as i was feeling the softness of the bed and the pillows, there was a loud banging and shouting outside the house. i peeked at the window and within a minute, i dashed outside and joined the riot in the streets. these are just some of the pictures:

so as you can see we had tons of fun. it was their town’s fiesta and its too bad we missed the procession the day before we arrived. but the streetdancing thingy was amazing…there was so much energy and music and dancing! we had lots more pictures but im just gonna post them next time (still waiting for geebee’s brother to email them to me).

so, the rest of the afternoon was spent karaoke-singing at geebee’s uncle’s garage (his uncle rented a karaoke machine, y’know the huge wooden type where you have to punch in the number of the song you want to belt out). geebee was the star and i was the punch-girl (he made me punch in the songs he wants to sing, besides he is really the singer not me so i just contected my self watching him sing his heart out).

we had another bountiful time at dinner, another round of karaoke then off we went for some rides. all you folks in the provinces would be familiar with peryahan, a place where you throw away your coins to get more coins, throw away your coins in excahnge for candy or chocolates…well its a place where you practically gamble away what’s left of your coin purse to have a moment of pure, childish fun. but i did not do any of that, instead i dragged geebee and his cousin jessica to the rides. i passed the ferris wheel (because i was so full i might throw up), and went straight for the caterpillar ride. it was hilarious. we were laughing all throughout the ride. i haven’t had a ride in almost 10 years and that was amazing! (10 years? what was i doing for the past 10 years???). anyway here’s a picture before the ride started:

anyway enough for now with our pampanga trip or this post will end up looking like a photo album. i do have another picture when we went home to manila (there were stuff i had to buy) before going back to baguio. well with all the traffic going on, i practically whined to have a kalesa ride to our next destination. well this is my first kalesa ride after 4 years (ha! the last time was in vigan) so it deserves a picture. i know, you can’t even see my face, but beats me cuz its still a kalesa pic.

another picture while riding the kalesa, while stuck in traffic (oh yes, horses get stuck in traffics too).

okay, enough for now. il just post more pictures next time. im at work right now and i was just trying to squeeze in my blogging…hehe…

~.~

newsflash: i think im pregant.

~.~

another newsflash: i was just kidding. haha!

~.~

another another newsflash: nothing…just getting the hang of this. weee!

~.~

don’t mind the icky background, was trying to change my lay-out when i was suddenly caught with a sudden-laziness-syndrome…riiiiggghhhtttt…..will deal with it next time.

ta’ta!
