too much of everything is bad (but good!)
May 21, 2006sometimes i regret having 2 day-offs. reasons are (a) i eat too much, (b) watch television too much, (c) too much dvd marathon, (d) sleep waayyy too much and (e) spend too much moolah. in short, i had too much of everything and its not good.
ate too much. the theme for the past 2 days was chinese. made paprika fried chicken on basil and ginger soy rice and tons of pork siomai and a large pot of wanton soap with slivers of shiitake mushrooms. nope, don’t have yummy pictures of them, was just too excited to golf them all down (with gebee, of course) to even think of taking pictures. thing is, i had too much. because other than that, there’s the endless potato chips smothered with homemade onion dip (yes, i make it myself) as well as take-out french fries and caramel coated corn chips. not to mention the amount of Coca Cola i gulped down. can you believe it? feels like i just got out of Survivor Exile Island. now, is eating too much an exagerration or what?
watching television too much. take this: The OC, One Tree Hill, Project Runway, Survivor Exila Island, Amazing Race 9, re-runs of FRIENDS + my favorite cooking shows: 30-Minute Meals, Wolfgang Puck, Emeril Live, Barefoot Contessa, Everyday Italian, Passion for Dessert, Food 911 and Iron Chef America + MARTHA + a daily dose of MTV and MYX + Oprah and Tyra + bits of movies from Star Movies, HBO, Cinemax and Hallmark and of course how can i forget the Disney Channel. i know, i sound pathetic. but its raining hard outside and there’s nothing left to do but snuggle on the sofa with a warm poncho, a big bag of chips and the remote control attached to my hand. heaven.
too much DVD marathon. now, this one i did not indulge on my own. its one of me and geebee’s favorite things to do together. watched Close To You (jologs or no jologs, i don’t care, its a feel good movie and it works), Just Friends (another feel-good movie and i had a good laugh, so sue me), and Eight Below (this movie…this movie…im inlove with the simplicity of it). and i happened to come across a bootleg dvd containing 9 japanese cartoon movies where 3 of them movies ive been hunting for since last month. I watched Kiki and Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro. Kiki is okay…your typical japanese cartoon about a girl-witch who flies away from home and finds herself in a far-away city and with her magic flying broom sets up a, taaa-daaa, Delivery Service. haha. i know, so lame but the plot is kinda okay. and next we have Spirited Away, which is just A-W-E-S-O-M-E! been looking for it. read about it once, heard about from friend and has been hunting for it ever since. story of a young, spoiled girl who moves in to the countryside with her parents wherein on the way to their new home they get lost and chances upon a weird tunnel which leads them to a town that looks like a theme park but in so much looks like a ghost town as well but the only difference is that the place looked well kept although nobody is around and as nighttime came, the little girl realizes her parents have been cursed and turned into pigs and she becomes a slave for —— working in a —— where 8 million gods are —– every night. hahahahhaa. i have to stop myself or il end up telling you the whole story. its a charming movie. moving and captivating. il watch it again. and as for My Neighbor Totoro, there is only one word to describe it, HEARTWARMING.
sleeping way too much. picture this: a nice comfy bed with cashmere blankets and 5 pillows against 2 windows with a slight drizzle giving off cool, cool temp…now tell me, isn’t that just perfect to bury oneself inside the blankets and forget about everything else except going on a trip to neverland…ZZZZZZzzzzZZZZzzzzz
spending too much moolah. okay. so everytime i had the chance to detach myself from either the sofa and the bed, id go on a quick trip uptown for an occasional bag of groceries, bootleg dvd, magazines and 2nd hand books on sale. not to mention some ukay-ukay stuff i pick on the way. Guess top for Php10!!! wooohooo!!!

BJ and Tyler won the Amazing Race 9!
yehey!
i love those guys! the positive attitude. the smiles. the crazy antics. the no-ranting-at-each-other-during-challenges. just the whole look of these two hippies enjoying what they’re doing…
they’ve become such inspiration for me.
