1 dozen tacos keeps the bitchin’ away!
May 29, 2006i knew i shouldn’t be frumpy about having 2-days off. i shouldn’t have complained about doing nothing but eating and sleeping and watching television on my 2 days-off. i shouldn’t have thought of having 2-days off as bad. i shouldn’t. and now its payback time. because im back to going to work 6 days a week. bleh.
~.~
because i only have 1 day off last week and im so bitching about it, geebee decided to cheer me up.
he dragged me to SM and fed me a king’s size goto at chowking and we went to the grocery to buy the ingredients for his other special treat. he knew that food, and nothing else but food, could shoo the negative energy hanging over my head.
so he made tacos!

pure ground beef browned with a pack of taco mix + fresh lettuce + sweet ripe tomatoes + crisp white onions + cheddar cheese = YUMMY!!!!

that’s our take-out box for kuya randy and the kids

here’s geebee lovin’ his own recipe
~.~
finally. watched The Da Vinci Code.
my verdict?
ZZZZZzzzzZZzzzZZzzzzzz…
yeah, i was more thrilled while reading the book. but yeah, Tom Hanks delivered fair enough and Audrey Tautou was good enough.
yeah, all that hype…ampf.
salon drama
May 26, 2006i wanted a haircut yesterday. it was my off, it was raining and im having cramps…in short, i was having such a bad day and my hair was all frizzy and was allover the place. i texted my brother and charmed my way to convincing him that i need somebody to go with me to the salon. while waiting for him, i took a bath and almost finished a bottle of hair conditioner (yeah that was an exaggeration). by the time my brother arrived at our apartment, i was ready to go, then an idea spurted out of nowhere:
me: bri kunan mo nga akong mahaba pa yung buhok ko.
my brother just raised his eyebrows but took picture of me gamely anyway.

this is me during my sane moment.

this is me during my wildly insane moment
***i ended up not getting a haircut after because of these pictures…aarrgghh***

too much of everything is bad (but good!)
May 21, 2006sometimes i regret having 2 day-offs. reasons are (a) i eat too much, (b) watch television too much, (c) too much dvd marathon, (d) sleep waayyy too much and (e) spend too much moolah. in short, i had too much of everything and its not good.
ate too much. the theme for the past 2 days was chinese. made paprika fried chicken on basil and ginger soy rice and tons of pork siomai and a large pot of wanton soap with slivers of shiitake mushrooms. nope, don’t have yummy pictures of them, was just too excited to golf them all down (with gebee, of course) to even think of taking pictures. thing is, i had too much. because other than that, there’s the endless potato chips smothered with homemade onion dip (yes, i make it myself) as well as take-out french fries and caramel coated corn chips. not to mention the amount of Coca Cola i gulped down. can you believe it? feels like i just got out of Survivor Exile Island. now, is eating too much an exagerration or what?
watching television too much. take this: The OC, One Tree Hill, Project Runway, Survivor Exila Island, Amazing Race 9, re-runs of FRIENDS + my favorite cooking shows: 30-Minute Meals, Wolfgang Puck, Emeril Live, Barefoot Contessa, Everyday Italian, Passion for Dessert, Food 911 and Iron Chef America + MARTHA + a daily dose of MTV and MYX + Oprah and Tyra + bits of movies from Star Movies, HBO, Cinemax and Hallmark and of course how can i forget the Disney Channel. i know, i sound pathetic. but its raining hard outside and there’s nothing left to do but snuggle on the sofa with a warm poncho, a big bag of chips and the remote control attached to my hand. heaven.
too much DVD marathon. now, this one i did not indulge on my own. its one of me and geebee’s favorite things to do together. watched Close To You (jologs or no jologs, i don’t care, its a feel good movie and it works), Just Friends (another feel-good movie and i had a good laugh, so sue me), and Eight Below (this movie…this movie…im inlove with the simplicity of it). and i happened to come across a bootleg dvd containing 9 japanese cartoon movies where 3 of them movies ive been hunting for since last month. I watched Kiki and Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro. Kiki is okay…your typical japanese cartoon about a girl-witch who flies away from home and finds herself in a far-away city and with her magic flying broom sets up a, taaa-daaa, Delivery Service. haha. i know, so lame but the plot is kinda okay. and next we have Spirited Away, which is just A-W-E-S-O-M-E! been looking for it. read about it once, heard about from friend and has been hunting for it ever since. story of a young, spoiled girl who moves in to the countryside with her parents wherein on the way to their new home they get lost and chances upon a weird tunnel which leads them to a town that looks like a theme park but in so much looks like a ghost town as well but the only difference is that the place looked well kept although nobody is around and as nighttime came, the little girl realizes her parents have been cursed and turned into pigs and she becomes a slave for —— working in a —— where 8 million gods are —– every night. hahahahhaa. i have to stop myself or il end up telling you the whole story. its a charming movie. moving and captivating. il watch it again. and as for My Neighbor Totoro, there is only one word to describe it, HEARTWARMING.
sleeping way too much. picture this: a nice comfy bed with cashmere blankets and 5 pillows against 2 windows with a slight drizzle giving off cool, cool temp…now tell me, isn’t that just perfect to bury oneself inside the blankets and forget about everything else except going on a trip to neverland…ZZZZZZzzzzZZZZzzzzz
spending too much moolah. okay. so everytime i had the chance to detach myself from either the sofa and the bed, id go on a quick trip uptown for an occasional bag of groceries, bootleg dvd, magazines and 2nd hand books on sale. not to mention some ukay-ukay stuff i pick on the way. Guess top for Php10!!! wooohooo!!!

BJ and Tyler won the Amazing Race 9!
yehey!
i love those guys! the positive attitude. the smiles. the crazy antics. the no-ranting-at-each-other-during-challenges. just the whole look of these two hippies enjoying what they’re doing…
they’ve become such inspiration for me.
and as promised
May 15, 2006so i promised on my last post that i would share the stuff me and geebee did on our 30th month together (and i promised myself not be a lazy ass).
30 months. that’s a long time for somebody like me. old friends are surprised on how big a change geebee has made out of me. im not a player, if that’s what you’re thinking. im just spontaneous. im not stagnant. i do not stay put in one place if i feel that im not happy with what im doing or what i have (like ending a 1-year relationship eons ago even if it seemed like it was the one, but i knew in my heart i was not happy so instead of being miserable i bade sayonara to him and i was off on a fresh start…but that’s another story), i just detach myself and move on…
but i know this one is different. geebee is different. he definitely rocks my world, floats my boat, makes me haywire, gives me goosebumps, flies me to the moon…
i swoon over him still, feel overwhelmed just staring at him, feel my heart always jump on my throat with just the sight of him…
oh yes, il marry the guy anytime…
and will be…in a few months…
sometimes we just wanna ditch the idea of walking down the aisle with our parents shedding buckets of tears and just go ahead get hitched somewhere…like at the back of a church with just me, him and ate ciao (i know…very MI: III…but im so loving the idea)….
anyway, im having so much fun and ive never felt this happy…he’s an amazing guy and i know im stuck with him forever…and i don’t mind…

taken while killing time…we were to watch MI: III

later in the evening at Pizza Volante

edison (original crazeee guy), ate tet and kuya randy (my model husband and wife), and me (wearing the poncho given by geebee)

this is our pepperoni and mushroom pizza BEFORE

this is our pepperoni and mushroom pizza DURING

and this is our pepperoni and mushroom pizza AFTER

~.~
there is an explanation for this picture.

geebee came home late last saturday after his wargames. it was his day off. he promised not to play for a month. he didn’t keep his promise and that pissed me off. i woke up angry at 8pm to find out he prepared a nice, cute dinner (check out the candles and utensils lying on table napkins!). can’t help myself, have to take a picture!
that melted me.
he’s crazy. im crazy. and we’re definitely crazy for each other.
crazy dizzy mushy
May 14, 2006what do you do when its almost 11 in the morning and you had less that 5 hours of sleep and its your off and its warm and sunny and yet breezy outside and you live in a city nestled in pines that allows you to eat out in a veranda while at the mall with the cordillera mountains as your backdrop?
pretend you’re riding a rollercoaster!

fun, isn’t?
~.~
this is a preview of what happened when me and geebee celebrated our 30th month together. more pictures about our date sooooonnn.
p.s. the cream poncho was a gift from him (as if you can view its entirity). im looovinnnggg it. you would’nt believe the effort he gave on this particular celebration. you’ll see why on my next post. teehee!
p.p.s. btw, we’re not somewhere on top of a mountain or something. we’re actually on the 3rd floor terrace (or should i say, T-E-R-R-A-C-E) of SM Baguio. yeah, that ladies and gentlemen is the THE view. one reason why il never leave the place.

from naked chefs to sophie’s world
May 9, 2006i crush Jamie Oliver. oh correction, i heart him. with all my heart. *sigh*
yeah. i have a thing, a BIG thing about a certain blonde guy who can cook, invent, write and put-up charity funds. and again, he’s to die for. *faints with a smile*
but yeah, this post is not entirely about the Naked Chef. I just happened to be bored to death listening to a stupid and pathetic conversation between a redneck and an indian tech support while trying to configure the latter’s wireless router when this kick-ass chef struck my mind. so i googled him and ogled allover him. for a good hour.
moving on.
i feel like ive been missing a lot on the reading section. what i mean is, ive been missing out on reading books or literarture, for that matter. i don’t have any new books pending on my nightstand. that is because, when i decide to buy a certain book or lust over a certain author’s latest novel, i realize id probably be too busy or too tired or too stressed out or too sleepy to read any of them, thus, i tend to postpone my book-shopping spree. which ultimately leads me to watching tv instead on my free, non-sleepy time. a shocking waste of time.
i realized all these when during my last 2-day off, i did nothing but lie on the couch and watch re-runs of simple life 1 & 2 on dvd or watch replays of Project Runway and America’s Next Top Supermodel on ETC. i tried to fish through my old pile of books to look for a worthy re-read and it was then that it struck me: ive been re-reading the same books for 6 months. i feel sorry for myself.
so next payday, il buy any of jostein gaardner’s books. any.
***FYI: jostein gaardner is the creator of the amazing book Sophie’s World.
~.~
i might be transferred to a new team. with a new schedule. a morning schedule. 7am to 4pm. woooohoooo! well its not that i dn’t love my current team. il definitely miss our craziness and fun moments amidst stress and pressure. but a day shift? a normal day shift? what the hell, il do anything to get that schedule. and now, im almost there. im crossing fingers…and my toes.
~.~
yeah i have a new background. for no special reason. i just love the burst of color. orange. yello. color. summer. life. me.
FINALLY! warning: picture overload ahead!
May 6, 2006so its been some time. a few weeks. almost a month of nothing but hi and hello posts. and to compensate, here’s a waterfall of pictures so feast on! (yeah i know its lame, il post something more meaningful once i feel myself pulled back together to sanity again).
POST BIRTHDAY BASH (sometime a week after Holy Week…yeah…it was that looongg)

just had a hefty dinner…and a couple of beer…i dunno why im wearing a cap…

off to Pizza Volante for a quick fix of homemade pizza and waffles…

speaking of waffles…and creamy milkshakes in strawberry and vanilla

yum, yum.

WHITE&BLUE MINI REUNION

this is where our school patron sain’t statue used to stand. and that’s forts during a crazy moment.

at an obscure korean resto. love theis kimchi and appetizers. (notice the peace sign. you can’t have a picture in a korean resto eating korean food without doing the peace sign). that’s nalet, me, ciao and henry.

jog, henry and forts.

our official cooks.

and then again.

supposed to take a picture of the three guys but ciao is not ciao and nalet is not nalet if they don’t interrupt the view.

i heart this soup. i dunno the name. it has rice cakes and dumplings and seaweeds. yummers!

ahhhh….so full…and sleepy.
we went for coffeee at Honey in the Rock in the afternoon and yes, we did nothing again but eat, eat and EAT!

love the ambience. beanbags, large pillows, low glass coffee tables…

jog and ciao reading while waiting for the food. we all ordered iced mocha coffee with vanilla ice cream.

that’s my first mango crepe.

that’s what’s left of my second mango crepe.

that WAS my second mango crepe.

so full. so happy. teehee
so there! that’s what ive been up to for the past weeks. old friends visiting…get-togethers…out-of-town trips…
no stress.
no worries.
next time, il tell a story and yes, there won’t be a waterfall picture part 2 anymore. promise.
teehee.
